Ugh and ugh. Word on the street is that the producers of PUSHING DAISIES, DIRTY SEXY MONEY and ELI STONE have been informed that ABC will not be picking up any additional episodes beyond their initial 13 episode order…at least for now.

James Hibbard of THR.com, who just reported this news, said that the network has been carefully avoiding the word cancellation as they want to leave the door open for these shows to return. Although it’s extremely unlikely that we will see any new eps past the 13 of this season I guess there’s still a little hope that the shows aren’t dead. Maybe Ned the Pie Maker can use his special touch to bring these shows back to life.

Whether or not you are a fan of these specific shows, I think as a devoted TV watcher you have to mourn their loss. All three shows, and especially Daisies and Stone represented a unique voice in the television world. In a TV schedule overrun with reality shows, game shows, and procedurals, it’s sad to know that there isn’t an audience for series that really standout creatively against the norm. As both these shows were critically acclaimed I expect that in their place we are going to get more of the same generic stuff that has been offered in years past. Because really maybe the next new medical shows will really break the mold.

Last night’s magic themed episode of PUSHING DAISIES really was magic.  And a bit of magic is just what PUSHING DAISIES needs to stay on the air.

Ned and Chuck’s half-brothers, Maurise & Ralston, are magicians and perform as “Two for the Show”.  Their mentor and psuedo-father, The Great Hermann (Fred Willard), fears that his recently dead assistants (doves, rabbits and monkeys) have been the victims of murder.  The Great Hermann wants the help of the magically skeptical Emerson Cod. But when The Great Hermann’s dies while performing his signature act, “Cementia”, Emerson, Ned, Chuck and Olive expect a differnt kind of voodoo at play.

Well, I didn’t think it was possible, but um, did we discover the one woman impervious to Booth’s charm? Hello? The plane seat was empty. Seeley Booth wants a massage seat…what’s the problem? In other news…

Ha ha.

This was by far my favorite episode this season. The case was fierce, the squints were snarky, Booth was a stud and Brennan was a squinty smartypants scientist! Who could ask for more?

This is hot.  I can’t stop watching.  How much would I love to see this guy out at a club?!  (Ha ha…not that I would ever go to a club).

First of all, can I just say that I am not a fan of any show that opens with a steamy bath or shower scene? Call me old fashioned but I could just do without these and this is now the second one that I have had to endure this season – first it was Nola and Jeremy in the tub (ugh) and now Simon and Karen in the shower (double ugh). OK, now that I got that off of my chest, on to the important stuff…

Always Wear Your Helmet
With her arrest for Dutch’s murder a thing of the recent past, Leticia celebrates her freedom by taking the coupe out for a quick drunk drive and promptly hits a woman on a bike. In an effort to keep the story out of the tabloids, the Darlings whisk the woman to their home and have her medical needs attended to in private, rather than at a hospital. She seems to recover fairly unscathed (she was wearing a helmet, after all) and settles in comfortably as a houseguest for a few days. Leticia is suspicious that the whole thing is a set up. She thinks that the woman is a con artist who somehow positioned herself to be in a place where an event would cause her to gain entry into the Darling home. Seems a little far fetched to me but I guess it takes a conniving schemer to know one, so the random biker chick very well may be pulling a “long con” since before the end of the episode she manages to charm both Nick and Tripp. (Thank you, Season 2 of “Lost” for Long Con 101).

We don’t often have ONE TREE HILL news around these parts, but then again it’s not everyday that ONE TREE HILL features a Creekster.  Dawson Leery is returning to Capeside, except this time around Capeside is known as Tree Hill (both fictional towns are really in Wilmington, NC). And Dawson Leery isn’t really Dawson Leery but rather a bizarre version of himself.

Still following?  I’m not.

James van der Beek will be guesting on an upcoming episode of OTH during which he will be playing a big time Hollywood director (a la Dawson Leery, but with a bad coke habit) interested in making a picture of Lucas’s book (ok honestly I don’t know if this is true or not, but I’m going to guess that based on what little I know of this show.  Actually I don’t even know if Chad Michael Murray plays Lucas or Nathan.  Someone help me out?).

Ok so that was a lot of blabbing just to let you know that The Beek is back and you should watch OTH to see him in action.

Talk about worlds colliding. Let’s not forget that Chad Michael Murray was once on DAWSON’S CREEK - remember when he played Charlie Todd - a love interest of first Jen Lindley and then Joey Potter?

As a longtime fan of Subway restaurants, I rarely deviate from my regular order. My favorite sandwich artist, Sarah, is attentive enough to memorize the preferences of her regular clients. As a result, I know that before I can open my mouth to say, “Hello,” she has already started making my foot long Turkey sub with American cheese, pickles, and lots of lettuce. No condiments or exotic vegetables for this guy, since my Subway order mirrors my vanilla approach to life. From time to time, I linger around the fountain drink area long enough to see another sandwich assembled. I am astonished at how many of my fellow citizens are able to create lunch time favorites that are as wide as they are deep, piling banana peppers on top of olives, or oil and vinegar chasers on top of a mayonnaise foundation. How are they able to differentiate between the luscious flavors of their chosen lunch meats and those delectable dressings? Despite the conventional wisdom, I believe that one can have too much of a good thing.

This week’s House reminded me of a foot long BMT with all the veggies, four exotic sauces, and a finishing touch of guacamole. Despite the best of intentions, I had to spend too much time picking it apart to find my favorite flavor.

Playing catch up on a week of missed TV is not easy.  That’s a lot of TV watching in a short amount of time.  And thus I’m asking you to forgive me for missing out on last night’s episodes of FRINGE and ELI STONE.  I don’t have a good excuse other than to say that by the time I got caught up on missed shows from last week and some of the shows from last night it was past 1am and mamma had to get some Zzzz’s.

Because of my suckitude I have nothing to offer up on either of these shows.  And this is why I’m turning the blog over to YOU.  Recap, review and share your thought on last night’s FRINGE and ELI STONE!! (Hold your comments on HOUSE…it’s coming soon.)

As Nicole mentions in her review below, yes, I did get to spend last Wednesday on the set of PRIVILEGED. I had a blast.  In addition to getting to tour “the mansion”, I also got watch them film some spoilerific scenes with Sage that I think you’re all going to really love.  I also got some time to chat with Ashley Newbourough (Sage) about everything from Sage’s to die for wardrobe, what her friends at home in Canada think of the show, and what it was like to work with Perez Hilton.  She’s a doll.  And of course you don’t want to miss out on the adorableness that is JoAnna Garcia (Megan) and Brian Hallisay (Will).  Since there is no new episode next week I think it might be best to save some of my sccopage for the next new episode.  But I may get impatient so keep checking back.

Well by now I hope you’ve all heard the great news that The CW has picked up five more episodes of our favourite Palm Beach dramedy. Not only that, but you will want to note a scheduling change in the next couple of weeks. The show is not airing next week, but will air Mondays after the juggernaut Gossip Girl on December 1st and 8th. This is a big vote of confidence, as Privileged could benefit greatly from a lead in from GG. Let’s hope so – if it works, we may see a full season order for the show!

So, about last night’s episode. There were some pretty separate and distinct storylines going on so I’m going to break things down along the same lines:

While the future of PUSHING DAISIES looks bleak, the show has not yet been canceled. The fight is not yet over. It’s beyond important for you to tune in tonight. It’s even more important that you get a few newbies to check in too. With all 13 episodes filmed and no more ordered it’s pretty easy for ABC to pull the official plug. The only way they are not going to do that is if they see an uptick in viewers. It’s that simple.

As we’ve asked you to do all season, PLEASE take some time out of your day to encourage others to tune in tonight at 8pm on ABC for an all new episode of PUSHING DAISIES.

So what can we, the fans, do to show our support and convince the powers that be at ABC to keep Daisies on the air?

• SIGN UP: Sign the Save Daises online petition.

• TUNE IN: Tonight, watch the show. Live. In your house. Look for the glowing box that receives pictures via bunny ears, a satellite or a coaxial cable coming out of the wall. (Everything else on TV at that time? Obama, Obama and then more Obama. So there’s no downside for you—you won’t miss any other show—and the upside is that the show’s prospects might perk up!) For that matter, email five of your friends right now and tell them to watch, especially if you happen to know anyone who has one of those magical Nielsen boxes.

• TURN ON: Go to ABC.com and play old episodes. If you have some spare change, download a few from iTunes. If Daisies brings in enough digital dime, that revenue might offset the on-air losses.

• REACH OUT: Contact ABC online or use the quaint ol’ post office to send a letter explaining, in your own passionate but polite words, why and how Daisies is the birdhouse in your soul. The address for ABC is 500 S. Buena Vista St., Burbank, CA 91521-4551.

• PUSH THOSE DAISIES: There are 23,000 species in the daisy family of flowers, including marigolds, coneflowers, sunflowers, chamomile, chrysanthemums, dahlias and zinnias. Send a bunch of your faves to ABC, or better yet, send flower seeds. They’re light and therefore cheap to ship. Seeds last for years and won’t go bad or go to waste, and they could be planted to grow into something beautiful in the spring. Don’t forget to include a note explaining that this is for the love of Daisies!

• SPREAD THE WORD: Go to Facebook, MySpace and any other social media site to spread the word of Daisies. Here’s a few banners you can use. Do what you can. Now is the time.
